In what appears to be another heated chapter in the co-parenting saga between Ye (formerly Kanye West) and Kim Kardashian, the rapper and fashion mogul has once again raised concerns about the way his eldest daughter, North West, is being handled in the public eye. Ye accused Kim of “exploiting” their daughter and leaving her “unattended,” sparking a new wave of online debate about parenting, fame, and children in the spotlight.
Ye, never one to shy away from expressing his frustrations publicly, took to social media to voice his anger. In a series of now-viral posts, he condemned Kim for allowing 10-year-old North to maintain a presence on platforms like TikTok, and for what he describes as the repeated use of their daughter for social media engagement and brand promotion.
“I’m not gonna let my daughter be used by Hollywood anymore,” Ye said. “She’s not a puppet. She’s a child and needs to be protected, not exploited.”
This isn't the first time Ye has publicly criticized Kim’s parenting choices. He’s consistently expressed discomfort with North’s exposure to social media and the fashion industry at such a young age, warning against the long-term psychological impacts fame can have on children.
Kim Kardashian, who has built a media empire largely based on personal branding and family visibility, has not issued a formal response to Ye’s latest outburst. However, in past interviews and statements, she’s defended North’s presence on social media, claiming it’s carefully monitored and serves as a creative outlet for her daughter.
Still, Ye’s passionate appeal raises critical questions about the role of children in celebrity culture. At what point does sharing cross the line into exploitation? And should celebrity parents rethink how they balance fame with family privacy?
Fans are divided. Some agree with Ye, praising him for being a protective father in an industry known for using children for profit and publicity. Others argue that Kim, as the primary custodian, has every right to make decisions about how her children are presented publicly, especially when done responsibly.
As the custody dynamics between the former couple continue to evolve, one thing is clear—North West’s growing fame is already shaping her childhood in ways that most children will never experience. Whether this exposure becomes a platform for empowerment or a cause for concern remains to be seen.
